Zen and tinnitus

Studies have shown that the Widex Zen program can help people with tinnitus.

For many people, constant ringing, buzzing or humming sounds associated with tinnitus can be extremely stressful.

Managing tinnitus often involves using sound, either amplified sound from hearing aids or environmental sounds or music.

To deal with the effects of stress, Widex has developed Zen - a harmonic sound program that aids relaxation. Zen has been proven to help manage the effects of tinnitus with studies showing that hearing aid users who participated in using Zen are, in general, less bothered by tinnitus and find it easier to relax.*

Advantages
When using Zen in a hearing aid (compared to an MP3 player for example), the user’s hearing loss is taken into account; the tones are amplified in accordance with the individual hearing loss before leaving the hearing aid loudspeaker.

Users can choose whether the hearing aid microphones should be on or off, depending on their preferences and the situations in which they want to use the Zen program.

Zen also includes a noise program as an alternative to the Zen tones.
